Laurel Lake
Laurel, NY 11948
Covering 30 acres and reaching 47 feet deep, Laurel Lake is one of the clearest bodies of water on Long Island. It is also said to be haunted by the spirit of an old man. At one point there was a campground near the lake; the site is mostly rubble now, but it is said the spirit of an old man who once lived there still lurks about the woods. Visitors have reported hearing footsteps and growling, as well as a sensation of being watched. If you come to the lake after dark, you might find yourself being chases by an old man who is very upset that your are trespassing on what was once his camp.

Reviews
Fished there may times especially evenings . The pass through the woods back to the parking area can be strange as movements can be heard and a feeling of being watched is there. I would try to do the trip back asap . And thats before I was aware of its history . Glad I didnt know I would have been spooked .
