Are the Ghosts Driving Owners Away? Amityville Horror House on the Market Yet Again

The infamous Amityville Horror House is on the market yet again. The home is currently listed for $850,000 with Coldwell Banker Harbor Light and has been used for multiple movies on the murders that took place there in the 1970's.

The stories surrounding the home surfaced after the 1974 murders took place and have captivated the interest of many generations, especially those who are fascinated with all things paranormal. Ronald DeFeo killed his parents and four siblings on the property, each victim found face down in their bed.

At this time, the home was listed for just $75,000 and its address was 112 Ocean Ave. A later owner had the address changed to 108 Ocean Ave. Dating back to 1927, the believed-to-be haunted home features five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a two-car garage, boat slip, and some ghostly residents, so they say.

According to the New York Daily News, the current owner, Caroline D'Antonio purchased the home in 2010 for $950,000. D'Antonio's husband passed away last year and she was interested in downsizing. She has already purchased a condo here on the island and is awaiting the sale of the colonial.

Although the home is located on the Amityville River, surrounded by other beautiful homes, it may be a bit more difficult to sell than the others surrounding it. Most homeowners are precise on what they want while searching for a home to purchase, and ghosts may not be on the top of their check list.

Would you ever purchase a home that was believed to be haunted? Let us know in the comments below!
